UFO Sighting and Photograph

At approximately 05:15am on 3rd January 2008 I was travelling home from work, North along 17th Street in Edmonton, Alberta. As I approached Petro Canada I noticed a very bright light hovering in the distance to the left.

The light proceeded to move quickly in a straight line from left to right accross the road. It did this twice and then stopped stationary again on my left hand side. After several seconds the object began to shoot straight up and then disappeared.

I managed to take two photographs on a 7.1 Megapixel Canon camera. One from inside my cab was distorted by the flash while the other from outside of my window came out well. The object was roughly square in shape although it appeared to have a brightly lit  'skirt'. It almost looked like an illuminated jelly fish! 

I estimate it was approximately 700 Metres in the sky but cannot really say how fast it travelled. Much faster than a plane or helicopter. I am only submitting this sighting because my work colleagues have said I should and I'm hoping somebody else might have seen this too.

    This event is three days long so I was camping at the track.  After putting the car away for the night I went outside to open a beer and watch the meteor showers.  A lot of activity was taking place in the skies when I noticed a very odd looking meteor....

    to: cheryl browne....wow i used to live in dorval in the 70's....and used to ride my bike between lachine and beaconsfield i was about 12yo that must have been creepy at that age......i now have an 11 year old who now is ufo friendly
