UFO Phenomena Over Cruise Ship

Photographs of weird activity above Carnival Cruise ship...

I'm a 37 year old crew man working for Carnival Cruise Lines.   We sail out of San Diego every 8 days to Mexico and back.  Our Ports of call are Acapulco, Ixtapa & Manzanillo.

This was our 3rd time in Acapulco.  Ever since we came down to San Diego from our previous runs in Alaska & Hawaii.  Normally our ship docks at about noon and sail out at 1:00 AM in the morning from Acapulco.

The nightlife as viewed from the top of the ship is very beautiful for taking picures.  Everytime we are docked in Acapulco I take my camera and tripod to take pictures of the city from the top of the ship.  I am an amateur photographer.  Please note that I do not use photoshop or any other software to alter or edit my pictures as a matter of principle. I believe that the best shots should come naturally and without software intervention:) My camera is not top of the line but it is quite good and is less than a year old.  Nikon.Model:D200.Lens:Nikon 18-135mm Zoom.

Only a few days ago on the night of Novemeber 9th, I was up on the open decks of the ship taking pictures again as usual.   During the shoots I took up position over the bridge (the Ship's navigation deck) and was looking towards the back of the ship.

I saw a couple (our guests who are cruising) in an embrace on one of the top decks of the ships. It looked like a very good romantic shot when I composed them with the ship's funnel in the background. I zoomed in the camera and took the shot. The camera was setup on a tripod and shot was taken with self timer to reduce camera shake.

As soon as the shot was taken I reviewed the image on the camera's LCD display and saw a streak of light on the image that was not supposed to be there... I didn't pay much attention to this green streak at that moment thinking that it must have been caused by some dust particle on top of the lens.  So I used the corner of my T-shirt to give the lens a quick wipe.  I then recomposed the shot and lo and behold there it was again, but this time at a different location on the image.

The subsequent shots speak for themselves.

There appears to be a string of greenish lights suspended approximately above the funnel of the ship. The ship does not have any type of green lights on that particular area of the ship.

The most interesting fact is that I was unable to see any of these greenish lights with my naked eyes while I looked at the funnel directly or through the viewfinder of my camera. The lights were visible only on the image after the camera processed the shot and displayed it on the camera's LCD display.  This was really weird.

It's important to note that I has started shooting pictures from 23:14 hours and I still took pictures of the city after taking the "weird" pictures and none of the pictures taken earlier or later have any greenish lights on them.

I did not see anything unusual during this time around the ship. There was no unusual sound and there was no aircraft that I could hear of or see.

I am sending you resized pictures for your expert analysis.  If needed I can send you original sizes. Please compare these images with anything that you might have on your database.
